De novias/ About brides

Imagino que en todas las religiones la celebracion del matrimonio (la boda) tiene un significado muy especial y la gente poco a poco le incluye mas detalles de las cosas que 'hay que hacer' para que la celebracion sea la correcta. A pesar de venir de un lugar en donde la lista de cosas a tener en cuenta para esta ocasion es muy amplia no deja de sorprenderme el toque que tiene esa celebracion por aca.

La ciclocarroza de la novia 


Cuando hay matrimonio en Struda la gente lo comienza a anunciar desde mucho tiempo antes y el dia en que finalmente se celebra el climax es total, TODOS en Struda lo sabemos, todos 'debemos' ir a darnos una vuelta por alli para ver a la novia. La novia llega a pie desde su casa hasta la iglesia y TODO el pueblo (los invitados y los no invitados) esta en la plazoleta de la iglesia esperandola y alli estara a la salida. Es decir, mas alla de los detalles de algo nuevo, algo usado, algo viejo, el vestido, los recordatorios, etc., etc., (todos tan globalizados ya) me ha sorprendido la participacion popular y el protagonismo absoluto de la novia.

En fin, es todo un espectaculo del que las ninhas pequenhas son las principales adoradoras. Las mias cada vez que hay uno de estos eventos se van conmigo o con las vecinas a chismosear, este fin de semana hubo uno y los amigos de los novios decoraron una ciclocarroza como la de Antonio para que los novios pasearan por el pueblo despues de la ceremonia, cuando todo termino nosotros tambien dimos una vueltica hasta que rompimos la direccion y regresamos a casa... empujando!!

Surely every religion and community has their special celebration for marriages since it is a special human moment and decision, the list of things 'how to' is long and growing. Comming from a place were this is specially truth I found myself surprised for the special touch of the celebration over here.

When there is a marriage in Struda everybody talks about it for many days before (and after) and in the actual day ALL the town gathers together infront of the church (both the ones that were invited and the rest) were the Bride will appear comming by foot from her house, when the ceremony will be over everyone will be outside again. I am surprised not really about the details (something new, something old, something used, etc) that are nowadays more or less the same all over the planet, but for the central role of the bride, this is definetely HER DAY, and the way EVERYBODY will participate.

When there is a marriage in Struda Laia and Ilona will gladly join the neighbors to the church and will enjoy seeing how beautiful the bride is. The last weekend we had one, and the friends of the couple brought a ciclying car for them to cicle around the town after the mass. When everything was over we had our tour as well until the direction was broken and we were obliged to return by foot...
